As this gets posted on Monday morning (per my usual MO of creating these blog posts on a Monday or Thursday and post-dating them, as the puzzles featured go public while I sleep), it is pouring out here in north Texas. We're finally getting rain but it won't be enough to get us out of a drought, and we're getting flash flood warnings rather than proper soaking-up of the rain. Luckily, the worst of it seems to have been overnight.
Still working on puzzles for October, November, and December as I can, but I think I'm dealing with constructor's block. I might need to take a proper break from constructing after all, once September 1 comes around. Until later, whether that means September 2 when the next Mini goes up or inspiration strikes for another Too Many DJs puzzle, remember - when nothing seems to go right, go left!
Second week of teaching down. My goodness, these kiddos are a handful, and I couldn't be happier to have this kind of job. The frustrating part is having to generate academic activity that fits the goals of my students when I don't yet have access to the software that'd help them. Only thing I can do in the meantime is bitch - okay, and get the kids developing academic skills and get my own hide back to writing crosswords. Have yourselves a good weekend, and remember - when nothing seems to go right, go left!
It seems the Labadie family has a lot of relatives. One of them, who married into the clan, sent me this puzzle involving a musical act, so it's now Too Many DJs #11.
It's weird that I've done more than 17 of these, and that I've potentially getting better at this. I'm also doing a lot better with the COVID reinfection bullshit I had to put up with last week and am now back at it at my new job with my suite-mate and my mentor helping me out with organizing and mental prep. As far as the AV Classic Themeless puzzle went, reactions seemed to be super positive for a debut.
TMU my suite-mate will read this note but her clue for [redacted] was used in the AV puzzle, so I think she'll be a little excited to make her own crossword constructing debut with that assist (and I owe her a beer for that clue). Anywho, puzzle below, and remember - when nothing seems to go right, go left! Before I forget - yes, there's a small change that happened. Eventually, I'd like to monetize this with patreon-only bonus grids, but I need to drum up interest in that first. |
